Use the plastic wrap and balsa wood to make the "housing " for a solar oven. This will trap warm air and prevent air movement which would pull heat away from the water in the aluminum can. The aluminum foil can be shaped into a parabola (one axis, at least), placed inside the oven where it will be used to focus the Sun onto the back and sides of the aluminum can, which I assume you know should be painted black. Also, any other surface exposed to the Sun inside the oven should also be painted black (floor, back wall, etc). If you use multiple layers of plastic wrap with a little space separating them, it will lessen the heat loss (just like double-paned windows).

That's going to be one tiny water heater! When we first bought our place in the country, we worked on it on weekends before we had running water or electricity. We had a big, five gallon water jug that we painted black and put out in the sun. It didn't take long for the water to get really hot! So I'd say, paint the can black, maybe set it on a piece of aluminum foil, shiny side up, and set it out in the sun! Good luck!

Okay the first thing you need to do is build the tank.. use the balsa wood to make the tank, line the wood on the inside with the plastic wrap so as to keep the water from soaking into the wood.. use the duct tape to wrap the tank and hold it together. you will need to make a hole the bottom of it so as use the cardboard make up into a rolled tube into it as a way to funnel the water. take the can and put it on the other end as way to use as way to dispense the water use duct tape to cover hole when not needing the water...and once most it all done you need to paint the whole thing other then the can black so as to help collect the heat..from the sun..don't forget to make some sort of door on the top to put the water in
